Deepavali is a Indian festival which comes just a day before Diwali. Deepavali is basically celebrated in the southern part of India. Deepavali is celebrated in states such as Tamil Nadu, Kerela, Karnataka, Goa and Andhra Pradesh and the Indians living abroad also celebrates. The calculations of the date of Deepavali depends on the geographic location of India which is Chennai. Deepavali falls on Ashvina Krishna Chaturdasi which is considered the last day before the full moon (amavasya).
