Diwali festival is a very old Hindu festival which is celebrated once every year during the end months of the year. The festival signifies victory of light or good over the darkness or evil. On diwali festival all households in India decorates their households with lights and colors and celebrates it in their communities and temples. The diwali period is basically a 5 day period in which some other small festivals also takes place. It is a ritual that on diwali everyone wear new and fresh clothes and light up diyas. Everyone in the family participates in the Diwali pooja which is also called laxmi poojan. After pooja the real fun for teens and kids starts. All people starts celebrating diwali with crackers and fireworks. After celebration everyone eats sweets and also do exchange of gifts among each other. Diwali is also the major event in which people shops a lot and market goes up in the sales.

Diwali festival in approximately all parts of india starts with Dhanteras and on the second day comes Naraka Chaturdasi, 3rd day comes the Diwali and the fourth day is dedicated to husband-wife relationship with Diwali Padva, the last day of 5 day festival ends with Bhai-Dooj which is for brother-sister relationship. The dhanteras festival basically comes on the 18th day after the Dussehra.
